Help with health costs

If you claim certain benefits or have a low income, you may be able to get help to pay for:

  • Prescriptions
  • NHS dental charges.
  • Sight tests.
  • Vouchers towards the cost of glasses and contact lenses.
  • Sight tests.
  • Travel costs.
  • Wigs and fabric supports.
  • The person you care for may also be able to get help with their health costs.

Disability-related benefits

  • You or the person you care for may be entitled to help with the extra costs of being disabled or having a long-term health condition.
  • Attendance Allowance for help with personal care for people aged 65 or over.
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP) to help with some of the extra costs caused by long-term ill-health or a disability.
