Bengali Speaking Activity Volunteer
City Connections is a service that supports City residents and workers, to find and access the information and services they need, by linking them to health and wellbeing services in the Square Mile.
Minimum of 6 months, 2-4 hours per week.
Purpose of Role
Our new Bengali-speaking Activity Volunteer will help by supporting the City Connections team, namely the Community Engagement Officer, to facilitate a new weekly activity in the East of the City. You will be crucial in making sure the group follows the wants and needs of the community and ensuring the activities for the group run smoothly. You may help to complete registration with new clients who only speak Bengali to ensure they understand the information they are giving to us.
All volunteers will be supported by experienced volunteer co-ordinators. Join and participate in peer support groups and meet other volunteers. Relevant training will be provided. Skills Required
Fluent Bengali-speaker with a good level of English. Good communication with a friendly approachable manner and solution-focused. Good listening skills. Reliable and committed to doing 1 session a week.
