Reframe the Night Campaign (City of London)

Improving your safety in the City – 24th Feb event

The City Corporation’s Reframe the Night campaign is holding its next event on the 24th February – it has a traffic theme.

It will be in front to the Royal Exchange (Bank junction) under the statue of the Duke of Wellington.

City of London Police officers will be providing safety information for females including violence towards women and girls.

Reframe the Night is a partnership approach to facilitate the night-time economy (NTE) by working with partners to provide a reassuring high visibility presence, with the goal of making people feel safe in the City of London. This is in line with the Safer Streets campaign to ‘reframe the night’

The Operation encompasses the City of London Police Licensing team, Corporation Licensing team, Environmental Health, Sector Policing, victim advocates, London Fire Brigade, Street Pastors, Special Constables, Network Rail, Samaritans, British Transport Police and others.

Available to City Residents!

Get Together Men’s Group

Sahir Ahmed (Family Action – a friend of City Connections) is back running a regular Men’s Group. This is a group for men in the City and Hackney to socialise, connect, and make new friends. We know that it is easy to fall into a pattern of not seeing people, especially when you’re stressed or feeling down. This can lead to feelings of isolation which can feel hard to overcome. This is a friendly group  to help people feel supported and connected through social engagement, a chance to meet new people, and have some great conversations over a nice cup of coffee/tea!

City of London Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2023-27

The City of London Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2023-27 Public Consultation is now open!

Survey closes on 12 March.

The City of London Corporation has launched a public consultation on its new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2023-27. We want to hear your views to make sure we deliver the best strategy for those who are at risk of homelessness and homeless or rough sleeping.

Our vision is that when homelessness occurs – or is threatened – the strength of our response ensures it is brief, it does not re-occur, it’s impact on the individual and our communities is minimised, and it is prevented where we can act to do so.

The Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2023-27 sets out what we aim to do to ensure those at risk of or experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping in the Square Mile are supported by our services and delivery partners in a swift, effective, compassionate, fair and respectful way.

You can view our draft strategy and respond to the survey by visiting www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/services/housing/homelessness-or-at-risk/homelessness-and-rough-sleeping-strategy-consulation – the consultation ends on Sunday 12 March.

What is Homelessness and Rough Sleeping?

Homelessness occurs when someone is at risk of losing the place that they live in and having no home to live in

Rough Sleeping is the most visible and dangerous form of homelessness, where someone is sleeping out on the streets

Support can range from:

  • Advice and information on housing
  • Mediation with Landlords
  • Support for those fleeing domestic abuse
  • Legal Advice
  • Sourcing temporary, emergency or social housing
  • Supporting former members of the armed forces
  • Support with benefits and housing support
